Basically, no.with some caveats. A cable can be too bad or too low quality to work. Shields can be connected wrong. Cables that are supposed to be balanced can be single-ended and still technically work (though without the noise rejection). Soldering can be bad and cause noise or premature failure.
Mid tier hdmi cables aren’t bad. They are great for lasting longer, working further distances, and having better QA. But it doesn’t effect the quality of the image. Hdmi ratings will make a difference, but any HDMI 2.1 cable will work.
The cables alone are worth that Reply reply More replies More replies. Moltthug • I own the monster cable one and I like it. I also have the official Xbox component
Columbus, Ohio. Just curious. I ran into a pair and thinking of making an offer. Authentic with authorized dealer receipt with hard case and extra plugs. Spades are currently installed. I'm going to build a second all vintage system where looks will play a role and these cables look the part. Ebay has them as high as $900. Whether or not Monster Cables are worth it is a war that has raged since home theater immemorial. A poster at Audioholics was put in a room with five fellow audiophiles, and a Martin Logan SL-3 speaker set at 75Db at 1000KHz playing a mix of “smooth, trio, easy listening jazz” that no one had heard before.

60. I was wondering how much of a difference monster speaker wire XP makes a difference. It was like $35 for 50 ft at best buy, which means it will prob cost close to $100 to wire my system when i hook it up. als the guy at best buy was shilling a Monster Digital Fiber Optic Cable and Monster Bass 300 for the subwoofer.

I do find the construction quite sturdy. But, their "turbine" connectors are way too snug, are a real chore to connect and remove, and, as a result, damaged my RCA outs on an old amp. I do not use Monster. The Audioquest cables I have used in the past, "Topaz", I think, made the music sound very bright and compressed.
Obsolete infrastructure has rapidly diminishing value. More coax cables in your home increase the fire load, for what it is worth. Best solution is always conduits or chases that can be used for a properly managed cabling plant. Plaster/drywall work is reasonably inexpensive for short hops in a home.
I know most consider Monster Cable to be over-hyped and overpriced & I tend to agree. However, a local audio/video store is going out of business and all
